ride2monaco 2016 – 20th – 27th May

Part 3 of an epic trilogy, cycling from Silverstone, the home of the #BritishGP, to the #MonacoGP on the South coast of France!

Raising funds and awareness for worthy causes, Team ride2monaco will cover 850 miles in 8 days. Starting with a lap of Silverstone Circuit, the route will take them across England and France, taking on four famous Alps climbs along the way. This is going to be a mammoth task, cycling between 90 and 117 miles per day.

The Team have received humbling success with their previous two ride2 Cycling Events, raising over £45,000 for their chosen worthy causes. Helping charities close to the Team’s and many of their sponsor’s hearts makes completing this epic challenge achievable. You can follow Team ride2monaco LIVE from 20th May 2016 at www.ride2monaco.com. As well as information about the route, the team and the five worthy causes they support, online donations can be made on the website too…

The Acorns mcc was founded 52 yrs ago in 1964, and until recently had its headquarters at Gnosall. Catering for the demand for safe legal off road riding in the area We are affiliated to the AMCA which is the official governing body for amateur off road motorcycling in this country. The Acorns is a very active club and currently holds events for Modern and Classic motocross and trials. These events are held on suitable farm land… where landowners receive payment for the use of the ground…. plus all the events are compliant with safety regulations… and are fully insured through the AMCA.. Both the classic trials and scrambles events are very popular nowadays and attract many enthusiasts who enjoy riding older machines…. Its no doubt that off road riding is a physically demanding sport, some less able enthusiasts prefer to restore and show their machines at the numerous classic bike events around the area enjoying a good social scene and meeting many other likeminded enthusiasts. This year we are holding 2 classic scrambles at our track at Butterton near J15 on M6 …the first one is next Sunday 15th May and the second event is 10th July Later this year on September 18th we are holding a motocross event for the modern bikes. Along with our thriving trials scene, we can cater for the need of most enthusiasts… whatever the age or ability of both rider and machine we can provide a suitable riding event to enjoy. Everyone is welcome to come and have a great day out watching the scrambles… or joining the club… being involved in a good social atmosphere or maybe even help organising or marshalling. If anyone would like to join us, just come along to the Holly Bush pub at Seighford on Wed evenings around 8.pm for a warm welcome. Alternatively in these days of social media take a look on facebook at the Acorns MCC page where we have full details of the club news and our events… or visit our club website.
